SDL, the leading provider of Global Information Management (GIM) solutions, announced today that Genzyme Europe (Genzyme) has selected a Global Information Management system from SDL that meets the new Regulatory Translation Management requirements in Europe, particularly the new XML-based Product Information Management (PIM) standard for the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) centralized procedure. The SDL Global Information Management system was selected by Genzyme to help them simplify regulatory processes through the deployment of a central translation management solution. The SDL system has the ability to support and enhance the process of creating multilingual content compliant with the upcoming EMEA XML-based Product Information Management (PIM) standard.
Global businesses agree - automated translation becomes a key strategic enabler

Completed by over 385 individuals in global businesses – of which over 71 percent were of managerial level and above - the survey highlights a stark increase not just in the motivation of businesses to use automated translation compared to two years ago, but also in the actual deployment of the technology. SDL conducted the research in conjunction with the International Association for Machine Translation (IAMT) and Association for Machine Translation Americas (AMTA).

Siemens Building Technologies Manages 50 Percent Increase in Content Using SDL Trados

The company deployed SDL Trados more than 10 years ago to create a powerful translation memory system, allowing the company to re-use a significant proportion of its content and manage twice as much translation output without any additional resources. Now tasked with translating up to 4.5 million characters every year in-house, the system enables Siemens Building Technologies to proactively manage the translation supply chain - accelerating project creation, offering mid-project visibility and powerful quality assurance checks to finish projects faster and to a higher standard of quality.

Revenue will be in the range of £116m to £117m (2006: £94.7m) compared with analyst consensus expectations of £114.7m. Profits before taxation and amortisation of intangible assets (“PBTA”) for the period are expected to be in the range of £16.5m to £17.0m (2006: £12.2m), compared with analyst consensus expectations of £16.1m.
