Oracle WPTG chooses SDL International to localize Training materials

SDL has entered an agreement with Oracle WPTG, the Worldwide Product Translation Group of Oracle, for the complete localization of Oracle University course material into German. The agreement covers both Oracle9i (Technology stack) and E-Business Suite 11i (Applications) course material for the German-speaking market.

Oracle WPTG required their chosen vendor to conduct full analysis of the source material, terminology setup and management, translation, review, DTP, engineering, audio recording, CBT integration and Testing.

As a turnkey solution for Oracle WPTG, the chosen supplier had to be able to handle approximately 500,000 words and the rapid, monthly turnaround required for such material. There was also a requirement for high quality voice-over recording facilities and audio-visual integration.

"SDL's demonstrable experience in the full range of our selection criteria was key to our decision," said John Norton, Business Relationship Manager at Oracle WPTG.

"Oracle had very explicit requirements", said Hedley Rees-Evans, Group Marketing Director at SDL International. "We needed to demonstrate a high level of competence in both the technical and the linguistic localization aspects of such TBT applications, as well as allocate substantial project resources quickly."
